Default What gear do you use on the freeway

Hey guys

Tried to search but didnt find anything

Wondering what gear you use on the freeway? I am currently using 6th, but in my old ss commodore you couldnt use 6th because it just put to much strain on the box, dont seem to have this issue in the sti,

Cheers

There was an issue with the SS's back in the VY/Z days where using 6th at low fwy speeds was leading to dead motors - because it was geared so low, it wasnt actually driving the oil pump hard enough at the rpm to match the load.

Nothing about gearbox issues though.

Thanks for that mate, thats the answer i was looking for, did the wrx's have any issues with the 6th gear and the freeway.
I was at the dealer and i was getting them to test the clutch and they said they couldn't test it because they cant use 6th gear on the freeway because they will be going over the speed limit (i needed them to test the clutch at high speed) which lead me to ask the question, is anyone using 6th gear on the freeway!
