RIP steve! Really sad to hear. Knew he was battling. Even during all this he was still setting up rally cars and helping out! He will be missed. Thoughts with his family and friends.
Also hoping mms can keep his legacy going. |

I had a few conversations with him during this time and battling was an understatement, yet he still turned up to work.

So Wisby has gone! It's a sad day.
I've known him for ten years, he has been a great source of knowledge, a true craftsman but most importantly a good friend and a great bloke. A more courageous and dedicated man you'll never meet. The day of the Australasian Safari he got a release from hospital to tune the Maximum Motorsport Forester. He did the job and returned to hospital....that's commitment........and the Forester did finish the Safari. Condolances to Denise and to the MMS team. Catcha Steve, I'm gonna miss you. Lyall Austin. |

Like Doug I've known Steve for over 20 years, happily he got to say goodbye to all his friends before he passed on, my kids spent all day yesterday with him when it was thought he would go but he kept on hanging on to see the end of the rally, typically he was determined to see it finish and Hopefully Rob and Dean got to say goodbye when they got back, he was very ill yesterday morning but picked up a little in the evening but was in a coma this morning, glad I got a chance to say a quick good..bye from Thailand and got a thumbs up from him.
RIP mate, you will be sorely missed by a lot of people, I can honestly say I've never met a person who could learn something and retain it like he could. Condolences to Denise her kids and mine who he called his own.

I first met Steve through motorsport circles some 15-20 years ago.
Then through my years of dealing with him regularly while I was at JWS, and personally dealing with MMS for my own endeavours for over 15 years. The whole of this time he has been one of the most dedicated and inspirational people that I have ever met. I feel honoured to have been lucky enough to know him. He will be sorely missed by many. I give my deepest sympathies and condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at Maximum Motor Sport.
