Sounds like Osb Park are doing their normal sales tactics. I would avoid them if that is the case.

Every dealer should be out trying to make a sale, just look at all the super low interest rates for cars on TV at the moment. It is a buyers market.

If you are considering the STI you would be silly not to look at the Evo imo.

If it is just to drive around in, I'd be seriously looking at the FPV GT with the supercharged V8 over all of the above.

Another option is a GS - This one's going cheap, depends if you want brand spanking new or are ok with a demo.

2009 FPV GS 302 - 14389kms for $39,990

I thought the Spec-R STI comes with Recaros as standard & BBS rims?

I had the same experience at OP Subaru when my brother in law was doing a similar shop around a couple of months back!

He did drive one at City and was much happier with the service there.

However, he ended up buying an F6 for less $$s and absolutely loves it!

Spider is correct. The standard seats are an upgrade on the WRX ones, but Recaros are extra again. BBS's are standard on the Spec R, as is the sunroof, folding mirrors and the crappy SatNav HU....oh, and all the STI badges (think I got to 20 before I got bored counting).

Me too, OP Subaru were rubbish, so we made a call to City and ended up buying the one they had there. Eric was the dude we dealt with. Very friendly and not too much bullshit (for a car salesman!).

I did what your going through earlier this year. Ended up with a golf R. Well built (fpv/hsv can't touch it) frugal economy, well featured and plenty of room for my needs and reasonable depreciation. Goes alright too :-)

Nice work... Bought my wife's Impreza from Eric last year... I agree with your thoughts!
