Default boost cut

I have a issue with the liberty were in 2nd gear it goes in to boost cut some times.

Running stock boost witch is 11 psi ive been told, now the standard rs liberty turbo on my motor has a 2.5 inch exhaust to a hiflow cat then to a cannon out the back.

now ive been logging the boost guage at first when it comes on boost it spikes to 14.8 psi then drops to 10.5

1. is there any way to stop it boost cutting like is there a boost cut defender im not going to boost it up at this stage and if i do ill get a arftermarket ecu

2. i found a old liberty site wich is closed and it said some guy called mike x ran 17 psi through the stock liberty ecu

any thoughts on this

thanks in advance

What are you using for a boost controller?

could be several reasons why its over boosting,
first things to check would be all the vacume/pressure lines between the waste gate actuator and turbo compressor output line are connected to the boost solenoid and are not leaking, check electrical plug into boost soleniod is not damaged.

if thats all ok use a small shifter and manually open the waste gate to make sure its not seized or sticky.

if its still causing problems put a mechanical boost controller in, and bipass the boost solenoid.
