Default WRX STI as a future classic.

Good (if brief) article from NZ Classic Car about the STI as a future classic:

Subaru WRX STI (GC8) – Future Classic – 227 « Classic cars

Apart from the 22B & S201, no GC8 is going to be a classic. In 5-10 years GC8's will the replace S13 shitters on the road today.

I think the article was suggesting the Type R/RA models in original condition.

RS Liberty will be a classic before the Gc8 ever does.

Only the 22B would be the closest thing to an investment. Even then I doubt it will drastically increase in value, only hold it's value against inflation. You'd probably make more money just leaving it in the bank.

A 30 year old car might be worth 'more' these days, but that is probably only due to inflation and rarity of finding an original.

22B may increase in MANY years.

S-Series probably not, mab a little.

Any other GC, not a chance.

In any case there are far, far better ways of investing money.

The whole GTHO thing only happened because there was an influx of very cashed up bogans in the boom. Look at what they are worth now by comparison. That won't happen again.
