what actually happened to allow him to be able to drive off? In my old GD if i got out of the drivers seat and swapped with a passenger anti hijack mode would kick in and stop the engine. I assume this bugeye has the same brant system..?

But this would run the risk of having to restart the engine after the Brant has kicked in, its about 30sec I believe, then you would have to type the code back in, not something I would want to do in front of someone else.

Yup - i now sight a DL prior to test drives. Not worth the insurance/theft worries of trusting someone you never have met.

This has me worried when selling mine now! I was planning to be very cautious already but now, its going to appear as I don't want to sell lol :P.. Hope they catch whoever took the car and it gets returned with nothing more than a few kms on it.
Something that freaked me out, Our license plates are almost identical and they are not personalized lol.
