i just want to warn you all about city subaru !!!

ok i have a MY99 STi....and about a month ago i was driving home from my friends house and i noticed a white smoke coming from under the bonnet....so i took it down to city subaru the next day......after 3-4 days of it being there they ring me up n say that the whole engine will need replacing...as its spraying oil from the head all over the engine and you dont want to just replace the head incase the bottom end is stuffed also.....so i thort about it for a while....talked to a few people....and it just didnt seem right to me that my engine could go from just normal driving when the oil and coolents were all full.....anyways i just said to they guys down at city subaru that i really couldnt afford 9k for a rebuild or a new engine....so i got the car back on a towtruck and got the car back to my place....a few days passed and i took it down to a work shop in welshpool to be looked at.....within 20mins the guy that was looking at my car had found the problem to be a slight split in the oil line going to the turbo.....so he said ok we will replace this and see how it goes....and within 40mins the car was up and running perfectly fine....no bad engine noises or anything.....

so guys beware of city subaru !!!

Arnt they the old subaru "arm" of the TOTAL dealerships?? ive heard they did some mickey mouse things while trading under their umbrella and had to go out on their own........

last year i went to them for prices..

them: 'ohh we will give you $15k for your car on a trade in for a new 05STI'

me: are you shitting me? (salesroom went deathly quiet)

them: 'oh there very hard to sell'

me: then why have u moved 3 out of your yard in the past month and that one over there has more km's, shittier spec and not looked after, and you want another $13k on top of what u offered me?

didnt wait for answer.. walked out while they were talking to me..

sold my car privately next day for $26k

I say FUCK Subaru Dealerships...

Use them ONLY to buy a car....screw them down on the price if you have to, and if they wont budge, WALK OUT.

Get your servicing and repairs done elsewhere.

I will never buy a car from them or ever go there simply because of their shit ad.

I have had good dealings with Melville Subaru but Joe is right, buy the car off of them and then take it to a subaru specialist.
