Yes but your's was a re-tune of the Vipec, not factoring in the purchase cost of about $2K if i remember correctly (which luckily you didnt pay ).

Once you have had your car Verso tuned initially, new mods = retune. A re-tune is only a few hundy.

However, you paid for a new engine

To the OP, go turbo back exhaust, fuel pump, tune and don't look back!

Yeah I think my tune was around $1250 for the first time. Made a bit of difference to response and a handfull of killerwasps but nothing massive TBH. In terms of exhaust muffler shape you have three main options; Cannon (loudest, and can be subject to droning while driving down the freeway), Oval (quieter but still a nice rumble), and twin-tip (Which I have no idea about 'cos they look shite). Don't even bother with Cat/Diffback.

Getting the exhaust, fuel pump and tune are the minimum (recommended) requirements for increasing the power output. For real gains you'd be looking to bolt on a new turbo and retune again. Good thing about the STi engine (207) is that it can handle power increases really well.

Have a read through the Driveway section in Introductions. Heaps of guys have similar STi's with varying mods and you can see what the common trends are. Most post up dyno plots and prices too.

(P.s I'm in the cockburn area too, think I've seen your car around)

Turbo back exhaust, fuel pump & tune (with 3 port solenoid) is probably the best bang for your bucks. Maybe it dosen't give big horsepower gains, but makes the vehicle a better & more responsive car to drive. Also sets the car up for future mods if thats the way you want to go. As with all things you get what you pay for, so if you intend on keeping the car for a while, go with the best parts you can afford.
Good tyres, followed by sways bars will be the most noticeable improvement you can make to the car.
