The problem is that is how it starts...we all thought like that in the beginning;

"Oh I'll just make the suspension a little better"

"I'll just tweak some more power out of it"

The problem is that after a while the gearbox cant handle the extra power and your less-than-professional driving skills, then the 205 bottom end shits itself (DukeDrifter-style) and then you get lured into:

"Well I'll throw in a 6 speed and a 207 so that doesn't happen again"

"While I'm at it I'll convert the hubs and put brembo's on"

Next thing you know your bank account is $20k lighter and that slightly older STi looks like a much better deal....

Stay out of the modification trap and you should be alright, WRX's are great daily's, but too many try to squeeze too much out of a WRX and pay dearly for it.
kid likes this.

All I have to say is... I wish I had joined this forum earlier and got this sort of advice. LOL

Ide get a GC8 STi and put the left over money into coil overs, brakes, new computer, tune and some nice sticky wheels and you will have a car that will run rings around any of the modern WRX's.... but maybe im just biased
