Fellow member Anthonyglew was nice enough to pop around tonight,I borrowed his AFM for a 10 min drive about and the difference was noticeable right away!. Definate accelerated much faster than before, didnt hesitate on take offs or splutter about BUT still had a bit of hesitation Mid Rev Range??.

I got home put my old AFM back in,went to drive off and a CEL Engine Warning light comes on?, I hooked up the scanner and it says" Mass Flow Air Sensor Low Voltage" ,its never done that before?. I cleared the code took it out again for a slow drive and no error came up again????.

Ive parked the car up and off to buy a new AFM tomorrow

If for some reason you cranked or tried to start the car without the afm plugged in then yes it will throw a code . sometimes the code gets stored in past memories.once you fit the new afm clear the ecu of all codes and it will be fine

Yeh guys I did clean the AFM last week with Electrical Contact Cleaner and it changed nothing.

I never have cranked the car at all with the AFM off, twice last week I used the scanner and no codes or pending codes came up at all.. I'm now concerned I might have done internal damage to the motor, ie running lean from dodgey AFM though ,Ive not been thrashing it about but still......
