We shall find out tomorrow.

Who knows the rough cost of getting car out of AAAC. It will be on hold of 2 nights.

Who does.. but there isn't much I can do once the car is found and isn't in a write-off situation.

Does your policy allow you to choose your repairer, or has it already been dropped at a shop?

Its currently still in AAAC. There is only damage to the wheel guards on the front left. Don't think it'll be enough to get close to a write-off regardless if I choose my own repairer.

If i were you i would talk to your insurance and get a mechanic you trust to open up the engine and have a look if there is any visible damage that may have been caused by there thrashing..
Because if anything goes wrong soon related to that your going to be out of pocket

If it's an option for you, still elect to choose it, then move on to ensuring the mechanical is sublet to a business of your choice.

Whether the car is a stat write off or not ensuring you have the right people looking at the car will put you in a better place to assess the damages to the vehicle.

I had never dealt with ACCC just be careful that its not sent to 'a friend',where it could be possible that a vehicle is repaired in order make a sale rather then whats in the best interest of the owner.

Do you have receipts from when Phil put the new motor in? If you do then I'd insist on a full mechanical check at a Subaru specialist workshop. Full compression leak down test etc.
