Is this normal when cornering with DCCD
Hey guys...thought I'd ask.
Is it normal to feel a judder/jerk type movement when there's load on the front left tyre? What I mean by load is taking a round about(like 180 or full 360 around it) with a bit of speed for example, when the weight/force of the turn is on that wheel. I'm getting like a judder (back/forth jerk) when I do that and wondering if that's normal with DCCD or is that showing a problem in the CV joint (might have clipped a curb at some point a while back). I can probably describe that judder like a hesitation, think of it like you're touching and releasing the brakes through that corner, not enough to slow you down but enough to make you feel back and forth in the seat. It only happens when I go right(clockwise) but not when I go left. Also only happens with roundabout type turns. I went in an empty parking lot, went full lock right 2nd gear around 30-40 km/hr gets the jerk/judder... I tried going anticlockwise full lock left and no jerk/judder. Dealer said it's normal with DCCD STis, any idea if it's not normal for this to happen? I had the tyre shop redo the alignment, had car yard check for any signs of damage, there's none, also readjusted the sway bar/endlinks at tyre shop to be centred, didn't make any difference to this. Dealer said its normal with the DCCD in these cars at low speed, but when I said that it happens with some speed in turns, they said next thing would be to open the cv boot and have a look. I don't think I would have damaged a shock with a tiny tap on a curb?? would have to be cv joint if its not a normal thing with 06/07 STi's...I am running stock shocks on Eibach springs Help! EDIT: Tried on every DCCD setting too from Auto to green square, same

Straight line is fine...goes like a bullet doesn't jerk
Yea I leave on auto all the time, only changed it to see if it would change that jerk at speedy round abouts I take it to be normal then, won't worry about it until next service and will get them open the cv boot to check the joint just for peace of mind. Thanks

You will get a shuddering jerking whike turning and the dccd is locked. Id liken it more to skipping. Fairly normal

Yes but I leave my DCCD to auto and it only happens on turning clockwise turns(70-90degs turns or roundabouts)
Guess the dccd is auto locked then by the computer when I go around roundabouts EDIT: yea its like skipping

Mine does a similar thing only when I turn right, where it will almost rev out before either changing gear or regaining momentum when turning, it kind of feels very sluggish around the corner as if someone has just put the clutch in and is revving the car, although mine is an auto... happens at traffic lights and what not when hanging a right turn. Is this also normal?

Sounds like you need more right foot, dccd to rear and oppy lock.

Russ that's true...when I give it stick through corners it doesn't do it, but through a round about I can't give it so much right foot as I'll freak out other cars going sideways haha.
Makes sense, it does happen through a round about as you're not accelerating through it but instead just maintaining speed. Track day in two weeks time at RAC on full v8s track plus skidpan linked....time to go play with DCCD to the rear

My car does not do this. The dccd only makes noises and shit when im at almost full lock reversing out of a car bay at low speed. Never in round abouts or while im at speed.

You have Tein coilovers, it would not put as much force on the front left wheel in a round about type turn as the car sits quite flat through it still and weight is evenly distributed, dccd doesn't have to work much.
I need coilovers
