ROFL... another PSI graph.

Ambient temp = 25 deg
Intake Temp = 65 deg

Enough said.

cool, I stand corrected...

No offence taken but the majority of higher powered cars have front mounts, I'm a fan of the top mount, shit, I've vertially totally modded my car over the last 4-5 years and still have a top mount, however I have just got a FMIC to see for myself what the benifits are or arn't...so we will see.

fmic definately increases lag, definately reduces throttle response.

its all a matter of physics:
20 litres of air takes longer to move and takes longer to pressurise to 1 bar then 5 litres of air.

the only advantage of a fmic is less rapid changes in intake air temps. also they are not immune to engine heat-soak or hot air temps from overworked turbos, they just take longer to get hot in peak traffic/hot days.

I intend on completely isolating the tmic on the wagons revision in harmony with a healthy water spray 'retic' system. The best of the both is achieveable with a little persistance. I'll let you know how it goes once its all up and running.

i have a FMIC on my car, (happy to do swap with factory 03 STI setup if someone wants. bumper and all if need be.

i noticed on the 06 WRC car at Rally Oz last year and on the pics we saw in these forums that they reduced the piping right down to 2 or 2 1/2", my immediate thoughts were, "well that must reduce some lag, less volume, cool idea" a bit better than the 3 1/2 or 4" piping you see on most cars.

always an idea !!!
