If i had 90k to spend on a car the GTS wouldn't be high on my list.
Had been thinking long and hard about this and yes, for $95k or so, I would love to buy a GTR or an M3 or a 911 or a etc...

BUT at $95k, we are talking about a 5 year old car with no warranty. The servicing/maintenance cost would be insane!!!!

So at the end of the day, I stuck to my guns and purchased a brand spanking new GTS and I absolutely love it!!! And with fixed price capped servicing at $220 and 3 year manufacturer's warranty, I will have a stress-free motoring experience for the next 3 years and also drive a car that is full of technology, is comfortable, handles extremely well and is fast enough for the average bloke..its a decision I'm very happy with

Couldn't agree with you more on this one mate!!! It ticks all the right boxes and is a complete bargain.

I also think the new Supercharged XR8 at under $50k will be the bargain of the century!!!!

No wonder Subaru had to drop it's RRP by $10k

I am confused why Grape Juice mentioned the GTS in the first place.............

GTS is a beautiful car! It is not like any other Holden I have driven, Euro feel with performance to boot. End of the day though it is still a Holden so resale in 5/10 years will be nothing.

As per the previous page, spider was tossing up between a GTS, 2015 sti and E45 from memory,

I just threw out the alternatives and stated if it were my 90k a GTS would be low on my list. As dukedrifter said, just because a car is amazing doesn't necessary mean i would ever own one.

-R35
-XY GT phase 3
-22b
-HSV's/FPV's

All amazing cars but if i was given the equivalent cash and said "here, spend this on cars" i wouldn't be buying any of the above. Just me.

Do euros really hold their value better?

These days if there out of warranty most people arnt interested in them IMO, and if ya look around the depreciation on euros is just as bad as most other cars.

A friend of mine bought a VW Passat CC top the range a 4 years ago (around 60k) and recently he looked at trading it on a new one and the dealer offered him 18k for it.

I would definitely say yes. The percentage of loss relevant to the sale price and vehicle would definitely be less with a Euro. It also depends on the market, I would say Mid priced Euros are more likely to hold value versus a $200k+ Euro. Also the reason Merc offers a guarantee on resale when financed through them.

I was at Diesel Motors today. There was a CLA45 AMG which was second hand, had done nearly 8,000kms. Price tag was full retail no discount.

So true!! I was also looking at getting a 2012 audi ttrs with only 12,000 kms for $83k drive away from the eastern States. The car was worth $150k only 2 years ago so took a massive battering from new!
