Welcome to the wonderful world of car yards. My uncle ran his own for ages. Live by one moto with car yards... If it looks to good to be true... it is.

That caryard is not far from me. I didn't see it there recently, either sold or owner is driving it to/from work.

Thread on fb about its history, and evidence of panel repair and obvious swap of parts. E.g tail lights are from wrx not sti and 06 boot has drilled badge and this one has no holes so could be swap from wrecked car. Not to mention apparent respray quality is supposedly 'not up to par'.

An sti from gumtree that looks too good to be true... be very cautious.

The car came into work a few weeks ago with a faulty air flow meter.
I changed the airflow meter and fitted a new battery to it but as far as i know that was the only time it had been into STechnic.
The owner was a homesick irishman who had priced it low to get rid of it as he has now left australia.
it was a little rough with a nice dent in edge of the roof above the front passenger door.

It's only there during the day as the boss is thrashing it("driving") and taking it home.

I thought it looked nice when I drove past and had a brief glance. They told me how great it was and how they had dyno charts with "impressive figures"

Is this the one that was on sale on carsales privately for $20,000 for a few weeks? It also had black rims and said nothing about its history...

I figured. Rarely any cars of this calibre at the little independent yards. shame this one's 'broken'.

It's a shame, you'd think a dealership in mount hawthorn would be a bit more legit, trying to take on the big dealerships and be competitive. But this is just a good old fashioned cliche "dodgy brothers dealership"

It must be hard, the other side of scabs beach road is all the major yards too.

I think for this car in particular the buyer (yard owner) wasn't aware of the damage.. Hell, the only way most of us knew of the damage was from others who personally knew its history and also from those who inspected it already.

That said, the independent yards on scabs road come and go like fashion.

It looks like this car is up for sale again, I was browsing gumtree randomly and saw the engine bay pic and I remembered this thread.
