Adding to the hijack, any event where you could end up front first into a wall a HANS type device would help. Not compulsory for club or speed events, but maybe for Rally Sprint. $600 for hans plus helmet.

Straight roads are for fast cars, twisty roads are for fast drivers. I have or am neither.

I guess HANS is a good idea, I'm still sceptical as to whether it should be mandatory as has been mentioned. I don't own one, but my helmet has HANS posts. I borrow a Scroth HANS from a friend who does differing events to me. I don't wear it at rallysprint, I weigh up the potential danger against the hassle and comfort and decided not to. I wouldn't bother at RAC either as there's really nothing to hit and the speed is relatively low. Gravel and tarmac rallying I would certainly reccommend it though.

He was saying at RAC there's nothing to hit.

Rallysprint there's plenty, especially if you're going faster than you should.

Opps sorry , thought Doug was responding to my post with Rallysprints.

Agreed RAC little chance of hitting something, but most other places...

Find the HANS actually holds me in my seat a bit firmer than without, and if you have one, may as well wear it. (Says I who also has a suit and prefers to wear jeans and a long sleeve shirt at most events, perhaps that should change)
