No-one has bothered to ask their tuner to do a basline run prior... seems it's something that always slips our minds when getting that first tune done. I kicked myself afterwards.

Anyway, (different dyno's I know) 192kw/259hp is what I made with the only difference being I have aftermarket headers as well (so, VF52, larger intercooler and TBE). Most 09+ seem to make 250-280hp with a tune and exhaust (with people opting for a larger intercooler or CAI).

It wasnt practical or cost effect to do a baseline run unfortunately. My tuner is on the gold coast and i am in brisbane. He is also a dedicated tuner and not a workshop so I had to get parts fitted elsewhere first.

I had a look at the results chip torque were getting on my model for an idea of approximate baseline as they also use dyno dynamics too: https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&s...ZoJe_-tFUuc99g

...about 140-160kW (155 seems pretty common)

Sure did. Jumping around all over the place and when it settled was idling rough.

I had the avcs checked out by Subaru today. They have confirmed it is 'not active' but the reason they gave me is that the flash tune caused the problem including that it could have burnt out the avcs solenoids. They were unwilling or unable to investigate further and pretty much wanted nothing to do with the problem just blaming the tuner as the cause. Does anyone know if what they are suggesting sounds correct?

My tuner suspects it is a fault with the avcs itself and is offering to inspect the banjo bolts and filters to see if it has clogged up. He claims it was not working when I first brought it to him and that he has logs to prove this. Wouldn't the car have thrown a cel if it was not working before I took it to him?

Hard to know who to believe and what to do??

Someone else can chime in but isn't there a pin switch on the gearbox that disables avcs unless the ecu receives a signal?

You can check this with the softwear during the tune. If you lean on the gear stick you should see the switch point trigger while in gear and the avcs actervate. It's a matter of testing the nutral switch to make sure it works or placing a copper washer under the switch to change the hight. Over the years it's been keeped a trade secret.
