Hi guys I was just letting you know I discovered some rust under the top seal of the boot in my 2011 WRX sedan.
I've owned the car since new (Jan 2011) and it has always been kept under cover and hardly driven (only 20,000km) and always well maintained, anyway under the top seal of the boot I discovered some surface rust. Something for all the MY11 sedan owners to check.
On a better note, called Cameron Hall, from Subaru Ozi Park who sold me the car new, he now works at Wangara Subaru and asked me to call up so he can have a look. To cut a long story short, they took some photos and it looks at this stage that Subaru Australia are going to fix it under paint warranty for free, 4 1/2 years after I bought it, good deal I think.

The rust is under the boot/trunk rubber seal up where the rear glass finishes at the top of the boot

That area is common. Water sits in the dust that becomes mud.

Agreed, noticed the start of it on the my10 as well.
