Default 2009 WRX - Recommended Performance Mods

Hi all. I have a 2009 WRX (sedan) and I am looking to make some improvements.

I have been reading on lot on these forums and others but there is a lot of info out there and its hard to work out the good from the bad. My car is a daily driver and I don't go to track days or anything like that (not that I wouldn't be interested in that).

I am after some advice about the following performance mods (total budget around $4k give or take - will consider what is needed really).

Goals: more power, more noise (but not too loud or drone), reliability. Not looking to do anything radical and just want to keep it simple and reasonably low cost.

1. Recommended turbo back exhaust?

A couple of options I have been looking at include:
- invidia exhausts (Q300 or N1?)
- CES Racing (New Items-Custom Exhaust Specialists-CES)

Which out of these or other is recommended?

2. Recommend tune method and recommended tuners in South East Queensland region (I live in Brisbane)

CES package above also includes ezy-flash tune.
Keen to understand some other options and recommended contacts to get the tune done.

3. Anything else essential or highly worthwhile?

Grimmspeed 3 port solenoid is a goer based on advice below.

Comments/advice appreciated (totally new to this and never modified a car before).

Thats a pretty bang on list.

For an extra 100buks if you can afford i would add a 3 port boost control solenoid. Will help the tuner retain boost at higher rpm and you will get abit more out of your tune.

At street level the list of parts will do what you want.

Thanks Tony. I know there are a lot of questions and options to cover in my post. Any specific answers/recommendations?

What boost control solenoid would you recommend and from where?

Grimmspeed is recommended.

MAC solenoid does the exact same job (they are exactly the same item) only the grimmspeed plugs into oem wiring without need to chop the harness.

I have split this post as I realised there are too many questions going on for anyone to take in all at once.

I would appreciate any further specific answers/comments on the queries in my edited first post above.

I've got an Invidia Q300 with Invidia DP on an 08 STi, before I had the headers/uppipe work done it had a great sound to it and looks a treat too.

It's got a little bit of a drone to it now with the header change though.

Also, have the blouch 3 port... essentially the same as grimmspeed

I didnt get many responses on this.

Can anyone give me some direction on choosing an exhaust? Anyone have any experience with ces racing exhausts and whether they are any good? Seem pricey ($2,800) compared to other options like invidia or xforce (both around $1,900) but maybe there is an install cost factored in to the ces price.
