My motec has always reported grounding issues, and so one of the things on my "list of doom" was a grounding kit. Rather than spend $70-$150 on a wanky aftermarket one i made my own out of some wire, terminals and heatshrink from Jaycar. I spent about $25 and have enough left over to make a second kit. Might do one for the Starlet. Rather than doing the "circle earth" design that most places suggest, I ran one from the -ve terminal to the manifold, then shot out to the factory earth points on both of the strut tops and replaced an old earth on the other side of the engine. No idea if it helped at all because my battery is to flat to start the car.

Messed around a bit this weekend getting it ready for MV, with the help of Damo, David and Shannon. My car was quite dusty after having sat still for the last few months, so many a penis was drawn. Dave took some photos, unfortunately for Damo his face appears, smiling like a 6 yearold on the bellend.

Basically I ran out of time & money to do much cool shit, so just put the car back together. I sat down on Sunday and wired the dash up, using the old my96 loom merged to the my98 cluster plugs, so I can plug and play the my98 dash. I had made a brief attempt last week but I had the wrong wiring diagram, but found a good one and started swapping wires, one by one. After I completed it, i took it out to the car and all the normal lights lit up first go, tacho worked etc! Pretty impressed. Until of course it got dark and I realised I had missed that one wire that makes the dash lights turn on. facepalm.

cage and dash back in, fixing the steering wheel down (1/6th of a turn off, dammit Damo you said the wheel were straight)

Carbon WRC copy mirrors on, took it for a drive about 10pm to give it a wash and its first drive in 2-3 months. Luckily the dash doesn't light up because I haven't swapped the speedo sensor so I couldn't see that not working :P
