ok so the motor is out of the half cut, time to do the same to my impreza.

here is what we have to start with




note all the red dust left over from Rally Aus =)

off came the bonnet, the side lamps, head lights



this gave us nice clear access to pull the bumper off, start undoing the fender liner



popped the fenders off, gave us nice clear access to the door handles. check out the intake resonator that sits inside the fender... slightly different design to the ones i've seen on other imprezas and liberties



with the fenders off it made it much easier to lean over and start undoing other things, the engine loom, air cond, pull out the radiator (making sure to drop all that lovely brown water before hand.. urgh

no where near as much to disconnect in this one!



door loom disconnected, undo the bolts and pull the doors off.. they are way heavier than i expected



and thats where we left it for the night. all we need to do now is pretty much drop the exhaust, the gearbox and engine cross members and the motor is pretty much out. strip the loom and put it all in a big gladwrap bag

here is how we left it

Okay Matt-I have read your thread! Very nice. Bit of a project to under take - but im sure you and Stace will nut it out.

retsej v2.0 ?? Be good when you have it together - i gather the photo taking might be shelved while your drifting it through the hills??

Lookin good Matt, all this conversion shit is makin me wanna do the same. Plus with speaking to Stace and working out how quickly he could do it and how much it would cost... its very tempting.
