I think big jim runs m1.

It would not be tha hard to put my car to M2. The handbrake might be an issue but you dont have to retain the original one. There might be an aftermarket one that a) does not get in the way and b) does not way anything. Having said that if you run the pea shooter then you will not be losing a heap more if you put the restrictor in. Apparently it will curtail power to about 160kw atw and no point revving the shit out of it.

Cheers

During Dutton I destroyed first gear. Had just run a PB of 12.2 for the 1/4 and a combination of a big launch and warm tyres led to this.

Ending up going with 1-4 PPG synchro and also a 1.5 way front diff.

What a difference.

Further to a previous post re billett driveshafts I dropped of a couple of them off pre christmas to get some replacements made up.

Guy has been most helpful so far and they should be ready for collection this wednesday (21/1/09). Cost has been quoted at $450 a corner. Bear in mind that is just for the shaft and not for the cv joints etc. Being a bit anal and paranoid about break downs I will no doubt put new cv boots etc on them which will add to the cost.

Once I get them and had a look I will post up the guys name and contact details for anybody else.

PPG wanted $1000 a corner. Second Hand ones have been costing me $230 for a complete unit (R180 diff) so they should pay for themselves pretty quickly.

Also I have put the car up for sale. Not fussed whether it sells or not. i.e. if someone buys it then I'll build a new car and if it does not sell then I will continue to campaign it.

ahh me dak dak. After 2.5 years the fricken thing is licensed. In the end I found someone at welshpool that knew shane (cams scrutineer) and knew what I was trying to do and was most helpful.

So the urabus plates are back on the car but unfortunately it wont be for long. When they finally get around to making us we will have to go over to the new rally plates. I have reserved number 207.

Anyways it is such a relief to finally get the thing licensed. It is never going to be a daily but will be nice to be able to drive to the servo the day before an event and fill up with fuel without havin to load the thing onto a truck.

Much thanks to Mr Lloyd for the loan of a standard exhaust and tyres.

Brendon, been a while since I have played with autronic, but for memory it the plug and play had two programable functions. I think the normal setup was to use one for the idle stepper motor for a/c operation and one for antilag. Although I think the idle stepper motor function was also used for antilag to crack the throttle butterly open.

You might be able to do away with the idle function and use this for launch.

I did look into it on the RA I had but as I wanted to maintain AC in that car it definately wasnt an option for me so didnt lok any further.

I am sure Lane would have the answers.

Congrats on the rego.
