Buying a black car is stupid. Your forever battling to keep them clean if its a daily driver, but when they are clean, lowered, dark tint and some nice rims most black cars look awesome

I suppose the old saying IS true- Once you go black, you never go back!

There is a review of this car in the March addition of Motor magazine. They said it was a pretty good compromise between the standard WRX and the STI.

At the end of the day, I wouldnt of brought it if it wasnt what I was after.
I did drive the 07 STi and was suitably impressed by it, its sheer braking power was great. Admittedly, I didnt get long enough in the seat or an area suitable enough to test the DCCD to its fullest extent. A 15 minute test drive is simply not enough in this sort of car. All in all, having test driven the Holden SSV, Ford Typhoon, Evo9, the WRX won hands down on price and appointments. Sure it maybe down a few kw on the others I tested, but the " seat of the pants " feel instantly told me that the WRX was the sure fire winner. Being able to choose between a standard WRX and the Tuned by STI was simply a win for me, because it was still in my price range. And yes, sadly after 4 years of cursing, I return to another black car....

Im with ya on the black thing. Mine is a biatch to keep clean, but i know for a fact that my next will be black too, simply because when they are clean, nothing else looks better! Plus, it feels good washing my car and making her look all shiny again.

Congrats on the purchase mate, im sure you'll enjoy every minute your in it.

(flame suit on) To those who by an STi - great ! enjoy your vehicle for what it has... but IMHO not everybody wants a race car. Some people want to turn the luxury tap up a little and turn the performance down by the same amount. Personally I drive a 2004 Liberty GT premium for two reasons. It's not a fire cracker performance wise (esp when compared to an STi) but (1) it gives me good power and (2) I like the comfort that leather, sunroof and McIntosh gives me. If I where after something smaller a turned by STi WRX would be something I would look at. I have driven a current model STi and while the power is exceptional, for me it is far more than I need and I find the ride too hard. Lack of extras such as sunroof etc would also put me off only because for the money I would expect this in this class of vehicle. I'm am not bagging those who buy an STi - you guys purchased it for your reasons and I'm happy that your happy. It is a great car but please understand that not everybody wants to drive a road going race car. (flame suit off)

My sentiments exactly.

Personally I think they are a good choice, and am a little tempted to get one also. Bit of hard decision, 2005 Sti secondhand, or one of these....similar price. Probably should save money get neither!
