Default Recommendation for tarmac set-up

I am wondering if you guys can help, I need new brake pads and rotors all round for my 1997 GC8 STi. it is a japanese import and used for racing only. what would be a good package that you could recommend and also prices?

kind regards,

Todd

If you are staying with your stock setup, I have found DBA rotors (4000's) and pagid pads (RS19 or 14) to be a good thing. Also like the endless pad (PC35).

Alternatively there is a raft of upgrades out there (later model brembos, AP, alcon) if your budgt supports it.

What about if you're semi-track/street use? Or want big stopping power but cams regs wont let you upgrade rotor size?

with the M2 class i believe that i can only keep the same diameter wheels, so can only have 16's?
are there bigger brake kits that accomodate these wheels?

Hi Todd,

Which calipers has your STi got? The 4 pot or 2 pot fronts?

What sort of budget were you looking to work to?

Regards,
Greg

Best bet imo, would be to contact GSL Rally Sport on here or V-Sport over in Sydney and get their recomendations.

Also best to contact Racetorque and MMS as they will prep cars specifically for these events and know what the best combination is rather than you having to test out a bunch of things.

Blaise's advice above would be the best from a forum perspective... Heck he just won a heap of tarmac trophies so he knows what he is doing!

Todd give us a bell when you get a chance, 1300 884 836, got a few good options available, including a full upgrade kit off another rally car going cheap which will fit under 16" rims.

Pretty much what kato and blaise have said.

These guys have been pretty successful and know their stuff.

Ive started doing track work, ive got brembo 4 pots, dot 4 fluid & qfm a1rm pads.
They seem to work quite ok.
