How so?

The two written quotes were for the same cover with the exception of excess levels I could choose, I get more discount with HBF because I have 5 separate policies with them (and a close friend who works for them)

HBF were charging me something like $500 a year for fire & theft only, max they would insure the car for was $9000 after an inspection, I went to Shannons & they insured it for $15000 @ $545 a year, it's a conversion.

for what you get covered for inside the PDS is different from HBF to Shannons. Once you read it you will see they are not the same cover...

Spot on. There will be alot of similarities with cover, but when you compare the exact amounts of coverage and company guidline rules there will be differences between different companies.

The best thing to do as what miss petepie has stated, compare the Pds brochures. always look around and compare for the best policy that suits your needs. Alot of the time if you paying a huge difference, the cover will be different.

From experiences fire and theft is only a small amount cheaper than fully comprehensive with HBFas the risk is almost the same.

Was there a reason you couldnt have a comprehenisve Motor policy with HBF?

If you dont mind me asking.
