Default HBF insurance - Agreed Value

not sure if this is the best place to ask, as most wrx are ADM rather than JDM....

I've had a long conversation with the HBF as I've got a letter from them that the agreed value has decreased 20%(in dollar value), hence i rang them, and advised them that there is no way on earth they can replace an 8 MR with the current agreed value.... apparently i was told that, it applies to all import cars.....could this be right? unless i could get an independent valuer to provide a market value....

has anyone with imports gone through this??

Market value or agreed value?

If they are lowering your agreed value, ask them for the premium to put it back up. Otherwise shop around.

I have seen that it has become a lot harder to insure a JDM vehicle recently.

Get a sworn valuation from my old man, shove that down their throats, job done.

He does it for 90% of insurance companies and it stands up in court.

If you want details, let me know.

it was the agreed value.......HBF doesn't do market value for car apparently ( that's what I was told by the operator)...

I will also see if JZR (PM sent) can assist, back then Luke from this site ( who was an underwriter for HBF sorted everything out for me with no dramas , but i believe that he's gone to melbourne and no longer with HBF )

Yeah Lukey left HBF about 4 or 5 months ago. Jeremy has been there as long as luke. My fiance works there, but Jez takes care of all my stuff. Ill shoot him an email and tell him to check his Pwrx inbox.

Yep Jez is good, did some nice deals on my 07wrx before.

If I was you I'd ring Shannons for a quote as they seem very
reasonable and understand everything about JDM vehicles
and there would be no drama getting new parts from Japan if
something happened.
