I'm 19, P plates until November yada yada.
I'm with SGIO, co-owning the car with my dad. I only pay around $1250 a year I think it was. However the car is only valued at $13500. Helps that we have house insurance with SGIO though, they reduce your car insurance premium.

I'm so glad I don't have to pay these insane prices for insurance.

Thanks but no.

Nice ride and welcome Sulph, but I have to question your Mum's sensibilities co-signing a P-Plater for a turbo, especially when you've already had one at-fault accident. I might be on my own in saying this... but I think it's batshit crazy.

Look at after it, and yourself!

The accident happened because I just forgot to check my blind spot, guess I wasnt as aware as I should've been.
It had nothing to do with speed, it was done at low speeds, it was just a merging into a sideswipe.... My fault completely, but ever since then I've been so much more alert on the road.

I got my quote the other day from SGIO

Im 21 Yrs Old - Never had an accident or claim - Not on P Plates.
For a GC8 WRX They want about 1500 per year, with a $500 excess (car and finance in my name only).

I am 19 on P plates and drive an 03 rex and i pay just over a grand a year with the car fully paid off in my mums name and insurance is also fully in her name. If i were to crash it my excess would be over $1500. Because they charge the basic excess + not on policy excess + inexperienced driver. Lets hope i dont crash it, because thats the only way i can afford to pay for insurance every year.

Im 17 with a B4 and i cant even think of insuring my car haha, it's just wayy to expensive being a P plater with a fast enough car and already having written off a car, it would cost more than an arm and a leg to get some insurance on it.
