In actual fact, they have quite good fuel economy, I know this because I OWNED one for nearly a year! Country driving you can get over 600kms to a tank(60ish Litre tank) city driving you should be getting around 450kms with "reasonably" fuel efficient driving(read: not hammering it around every corner!) In terms of getting a retune done on the B4 in perth. Verso will do a full tune on the dyno as they do with the WRX's/Evo's whereas EcuTek can only offer you a Tek 2 tune which is not only more expensive, but it is a base map with a short street tune done on the road by your chosen tuner.(Tek 3 is not available in WA unless an MRT Rep is over here specially) I know which way I would be going! I guess Google doesnt know everything!

Google know from experience only. I have never owned a b4. But I have a couple friends who have. They regularly got around 15L/100Km from their B4s. City driving, but not lead footed. the best one of my mates ever got was 12L/100km when he spent a week working in the country. Hes was not into the whole modification thing so he ended up selling after a couple of years and getting an Audi.

I used to push mine a fair bit, plus i had a modified intake and diff back exhaust... and yet i got about the same fuel economy as I do in the WRX... My Dad who now owns the car, gets around 10-12L/100kms city driving and the car is back to almost stock! Perhaps your mates were not using 98RON fuel?
