Default Gday chaps - questions for the gurus!

howdy ... ive been here for a while with a 98 Subaru Liberty Rx2.5 Wagon

i also have a 93 Honda Civic Gli Sedan and a 04 Toyota Corrolla Hatch (facelift)

i also used to own a Honda Integra Type-R

we are looking to trade out the civic for a WRX and give the liberty to my mum

im looking at the 2003-2005 WRX's - i have some questions for the gurus!
what i want to know is:

- what are the main differences between the year models?
- is there a performance difference between a sedan and a wagon? (i want a sedan with a STI wing and my missus wants a wagon)
- is the weight difference and addition of a sunroof of the club-specs an issue?
- why is there different numbered clubspecs that look the same in this year range?

i have done some research but if anyone could give me some straight out answers to my questions i would be eternally grateful =)

Cheers

welcome mate.

first of all, what are you going to use the car for? if you are not putting it on the track etc, i wouldnt be too worried about the weight of a sunroof etc.

club spec models basically have small cosmetic upgrades over standard, and there are a limited number of each club spec model around.
in the 03-05/GD model, there is also a 'WRP10' model, with cosmetic upgrades and a little bit of STi performance.
STi models have extra driveline reliability and a bit more power than a standard WRX, but they are a bit more expensive.

But the main question here is, what do you want from the car?

i would like to to time trials or hill climbs, otherwise it will be a daily with weekend trips around the southwest and eventually some family stuff

my missus wants the wagon for the ability to eventually put a pram in the back ... but im very meh on that lol

the cars im deciding between is integra type-s or 03-05 WRX

another thing i should point out is that i love to mod ... it will be a small on-going project over time ... my budget for the car is max $25k ... will only spend more for an STI or something in REALLY good shape

my main concern is wagon vs sedan ... i dont mind getting a wagon as long as the performance will be the same

How 'bout an MY06 XT Forester mate....Not a WRX but good for family duties as well as weekend fun. We've out grown ours so we're thinking of going to a Lib wagon (2 kids + working on the next one) PM me for a run down if it interests you.....it will impress you and is roughly in your price range, low kms too.

nah really prefer WRX ... i want to heavily mod it and i want a nice sporty base to work with ... like i sed i will be shopping between the 04-06 Integra-Type-S and 03-05 WRX

can anyone tell me if there is any performance drawback to having a wagon? or any other major factors with wagon vs sedan - to me the shape of the impreza wagon is a bit pointless because u dont get THAT much more than the sedan ... but i duno ... if its useless extra weight than i wont get one, if its handy for some reason and isnt too bad than i will get one... if it makes no difference or is sumhow better for performance i will definatly get one lol

cheers for the input
saint

Wagon has narrower track than sedan. If you can't fit the family in a WRX sedan WTF are you thinking of an Integra for?
