Hi all,
I'm (relatively) new to PWRX,
I've been stalking you all for a month or so and decided to introduce myself.

My name's Morgan, and I'll be the first to admit I know bugger all about cars
(I'm trying though...)
I recently bought a 2001 RX hatch after extensive, exhausting and frustrating trawling of car magazines, the interwebs and for sale signs after I FINALLY got the ok from the folks to get a new car.
I got a pretty good deal - I think - as the car's just ticked over to 60k and appears to have been really well looked after.
I'm 18, I work at a pub to pay off my car loan and go to Uni so I don't have to work at a pub my whole life.

I'm thinking about getting cutom 'MOMO' plates, because:
1) it was one of my nicknames in high school
2) my momo steering wheel makes me happy
3) my car has a mascot, he's a monkey with a chef's hat and, you guessed it, his name's momo
comment?

SIDENOTE: I'm a bit of a photographer, so if you'd like some free images of your cars pm me, I'm pretty flexible and keen to build a portfolio. I will take decent photos of my own car when i get around to it

As a bit of history, it's my second car after a 1993 Magna that was loyal to me for 2 years.
After 2 years, it decided it'd had enough. In ~6 months, the timing chain, carburetor, brakes, transmission and tyres had to be replaced. I still kick myself for not ditching it earlier, but that's another story

So to cut it short:
- bugeye hatch, love of my life.
- decent sound system just installed (full pioneer - deck, splits, amp + sub)
- no mods, I don't really know what I'm doing
- hatch driver through and through (started with necessity, now I just love them)

Re the Magna it's strange how cars sometimes give up the ghost all of a sudden, with one failure after another.

I'd be guessing that 'momo' would be already taken as a custom plate, but worth giving the Dept of Transport a call if you are really keen.
