Default Hey All!

Well seeing that I've been lurking around this place for the past two years, I thought it might be high time to actually introduce myself.

My first exposure to a wrx was through one of my closest mates, she had a nice green classic with gold rims, 3" turbo back and sat lower to the ground.

After taking it for a spin one afternoon I was immediately hooked on the car and aspired to eventually get one to call my own.

In 2008 after seeing the new model Impreza WRX, I bit the bullet and purchased an OBP hatch from City Subaru.

Needless to say, I was thrilled but bitterly disappointed with the manner in which the car handled on the road, so after doing some reading (thank you search button ) I decided to give John at wheels world a call.

Several weeks later I had dropped the car off for some minor suspension modifications and the minute I sat in the car, I knew it was beginning to feel like a real WRX (I also had a grin from ear to ear!).

The car was subjected to the following:
22mm front sway bar,
20mm rear sway bar,
front control arm brace,
front strut tower brace,
roll centre kit,
Whiteline lowering springs &
some camber here and there.

Unfortunately that car is now gone and in its stead sits a nice new MY11 WR Mica sedan.

I only have a few pictures up at the moment but for those who will be attending the Colin McRae cruise this year, I'll be nice enough to let you have a close up look at the car!

Cheers,

Tony!

Amazing how much the front of the MY11 harks back to the original GC8. Nice work, Subaru!

The MY11 fees a lot less like a boat compared to the MY08 and barely rolls from what I've noticed.

I haven't driven any MY09's to date, but I have taken a MY10 for a couple of drives, the only noticeable difference is a slightly firmer body.

Powerwise it feels a fair bit different to the MY08, but is the same as the MY09/MY10.
