Brett Allan knows their stuff
Smile Hey there!!

Hi all,

My name is Brett and I have recently purchased a MY01 WRX, just joined perth-wrx as well. Its pretty standard with only a few light modifications; a 3 inch full turbo back into a 4 inch oval tip (nice rumble), AEM cold air intake from the states, sti scoop, 17inch rims, front strut brace and simple turbo timer and boost gauge.

Future plans include:
Re-tune
Stereo install
Body kit
Larger cannon on the back
possibly bigger intercooler...

Any ideas on the best place to get a re-tune?

Cheers

Hello Brett.. nice car you picked up there mate. Looks very clean, in regards to your question on tuning there are two main ones I can tell you. All Star Garage and Maximum Motorsport are both very reputable workshops... there are many more that you can choose from, just use the search option above and you will find plenty of information on that topic.

Grats and happy modding

If your car has not been tuned before, I would personally take it to All Star Garage for a verso tune which will cost you around that price... but if it has been tuned before then it won't cost as much

Welcome congrats on the car, i wouldn't worry about an intercooler at this stage.. stock is plenty for its current purpose. Ive owned an untuned rex and a tuned one and you will not be disappointed with the result of a verso tune :>

Welcome aboard and enjoy the stay Brett. Best bang for your buck is a good tune. As stated by others ASG or MMS will both be able to assist you.

Gday Brett, sounding like an echo in here BUT can't go past a tune. Again, ASG and MMS are your better starting points.

To quote someone " why Why WHY did I wait so long to get a tune".

Thanks everyone for the great advice really appreciated. I have emailed the All Star Garage, in relation to the tune and I hope to hear back from them shortly. Is a tune really needed in the older models or can the ECU accommodate a TBE? and does having the re-tune improve economy? cause right now i am getting shit economy, around 100km from 1/4 of a tank :/ thoughts?
cheers

That would be the exhaust a tune will get you between 5 and 600 per tank and make more power at the same time. Not to mention the car will be more responsive with boost coming on alot smoother
