Allow yourself approx $8K to build a reliable forged bottom end, with rebuilt heads included.... Done properly, if you do the bulk of the tear down & re-installation yourself that is.

Fyi stock retainers are the strongest, single springs are needed for High lift cams.

Oil pump-wise go the late OEM dual avcs oil pump, more than adequate.

Read my build thread (I'm in the industry too) & you'll start to see what's what.

Watch Brents (rexploit) build that's just begun as well & you'll see what's need to make reliable power from a TD06 boosted 2 litre (yes...even though he's going 2.2 stroker it's still same/same).

For parts pricing go and look @ Real Street Performance.

I wouldn't bother bolting the bolt on goodies on to the original motor, it will be crap to drive with big lag for a limited top end gain, for a limited time.

If you pop the original one & damage the block or bores you'll add an additional 30% the cost of building it properly (needing to source another crankcase).

Just my 2 cents....

I've got a TD06 on my bugeye running 21psi on a stock engine with 225000k's on the clock, it should be fine, if you get it tuned right. you will definitely need bigger injectors and fuel pump, STI pinkies shoud do the job for a start.
YOu should upgrade the intake to make the most of it too, the standard airbox will be restictive with a TD06.

Do not heat wrap stainless headers or they will crack.....
