Default Jesse just bought an old rex

Hi everyone,

just bought myself an old rex over here on christmas island, it's a 1994 GC8B has several mods, if i have had the choice i would have bought an unmodded car but there is no selection here and this one just landed in my hands. It didn't cost me much but it's a good little toy, and i am happy to put some money into it once i get it running right so that i am happy with it. i have a bunch of questions regarding intake as it has had a vf34 turbo put on it, so if anyone one wants to let me know where to post them or if anyone has had a wrx of the same vintage with the same turbo then i'd love to hear from you.

Cheers, Jess

i'll put up a few photos tomorrow, it looks a bit scrappy, cracked front bumper and the gloss has started peeling off, but it goes alright. it's going to need a bit of attention over the next little while so expect to see a few posts from me. me and a mate bought two cars off one bloke who left the island, that's my 94 WRX and his 99 STi 2 door. what does an old WRX like mine in OK condition go for on the mainland at the moment? and does anyone know if the Blue subaru paint is easily available? no places to get painting done over here, but if i were able to get hold of the right paint i would be keen to see if i would get some touch up work done if i could get the right colour.

5 - 8 thousand depending on condition and the 2 door 18 - 24 thousand also depending on condition and mileage, The paint code is on the vin plate, any automotive paint shop can mix it, or most panel beaters.

Nobody stocks the paint colour, they just make it on the spot whether you want acrylic or 2 pack so even if you give them the number off a 64 EH Holden they'll make it, problem you have is it'll never match because of fading, you could send the fuel cover which is what a lot of people use to get a decent match.

Mine is the blue 4 door, (excuse the silver petrol cap and the gay prodrive stickers, which i have now removed) the other one is my mates 2 door STi. in these pics you can't see how the gloss has peeled off, i'll find a picture that shows it and post it later. does anyone know what is likely the cheapest option for me to fix that flaky gloss problem?

I actually remember seeing both these cars at the previous owners house a couple of years ago - I went to xmas island for work. Both looked pretty sweet.

I actually saw a few WRX's - mostly hiding in carports/garages. I actually saw a mint S204 too.

Was over there for a day before heading to Cocos about 10 years ago, it was just after the end of the migration of the crabs, many didn't make it.
