Default New guy

Hey everyone. Just bought My first Subaru wrx and can say i love them. Pretty plain on the inside but great to drive.
Its a 2005 My06 in great condition in and out. Seems to have been looked after well. Only mods are 18" wheels, superlow springs, Xforce exhaust cat back and STI spoiler. Not a mark on the alloys (seems to be rare there days).

Previous cars have been, in order:
Holden HQ Panelvan 202
Holden VR V6 berlina modified to 220kw (back then that was huge)
Nissan 180sx sr20det modifed to 240kw
Nissan F50 Cima V8
Toyota Aurion Presara
and now the Wrx.....

Only mods planned are to finish the exhaust, bigger TMIC, boost controller and turbo timer and maybe bov.

Hoping to get some great info and inspirations from these forums
Cheers.

Forget the boost controller, get a tune. Forget the turbo timer, they're pointless and illegal. Oh yeh, BOV will be aids.

That aside, welcome aboard.

Welcome mate, as stated turbo timers are a waste of time, purely wank value now days. Boost controllers are for NA cars that some one whacked a turbo on and is expecting it to pop, just get it tuned properly. Aside from that nice intro and enjoy your car!

Welcome, nice hawk.

Yey to exhaust and TMIC, nay to the rest. It will need a tune when the full turbo-back exhaust goes on so factor that in. Look in the workshops thread for decent places to get it tuned. While you're at it shove a fuel pump in there too, costs $100 and is required for most power mods later anyway.

thanks guys, Already learning just from the intro. Timer and controller noted and dismissed. Had them on my 180sx years ago and just thought it was the basic things to have. Fuel pump and tune it will be with finished zorst. As for BOV. I know they are wank (and aids lol) but i am partial to the SSQV sound....it is a maybe for now haha. Thanks for the welcome.

The bov will actually cause your engine damage if you just fit and drive.

For exhausts there is someone on here doing stupidly cheap ones.
