1. Given the tax advantages large mining companies have, they will pay little to none of any proposed mining tax. This will only hurt smaller mining or new mining companies. Remember we are not the only ones in the world that have these minerals. Other countries are begging the large mining companies to come to their country. 2. Have a look at the top 10 profitable companies in Australia. Why not put a 'super profits' tax on banks, Woolworths, Coles etc? Why single out mining? Most likely as the other companies will just pass the costs on to the consumer (i.e. voters) and whoever brings that in will just get voted out next election as it is a visible cost to the consumer. 3. WTF will Kevin do? He was hardly here when PM, did nothing other than give $900 fun bucks to some people. We need new blood, not recycled smiling, baby kissing folk. I don't care what party is in, but we need some leadership that will stick to their elected promises and look out for Australia's interest long term, not just in 4 years when they want to be re-elected.

When I was a "wee rug rat" a university education involved a $180 odd "student union fee" and a $50 odd admin fee.
It was Dawson who implemented the HECS scheme. He was from which party . . . too old, don't remember arseholes but for him I will. For the working class ... LOL for the Union elite ONLY.

i dont disagree with the need for means testing a lot of rebates etc, but its another genuine example of the misleading this government employs to get the votes in, then stab your back once the dust settles,
the cut offs do seem a little low, i assume many bogan fifo families would be over that threshold anyway.

Juliar thinks she is a modern day robin hood....I cant wait to see how much prices rise due to this tax and how little affect it actually has on carbon production in this country. Another bad tax from bad government.

I'm already feeling the benefits of the carbon tax. I've heard the polar bears are loving it.

Stop whinging and get on with it. It seems the only people complaining are people in the mining sector who are over paid any way. suck it up
