Theoretically it's a bit uncool for the old centre diff as the rears are stopped momentarily while the fronts are still rotating. However, they seem to deal with it ok. Also remember that if done with enough gusto your fronts are going to be almost roating around each other anyway. The car has to be almost on the point of spinning before you yoink the handle, the handbrake just unbalances it enough to 'lose' the rear. The handbrake only needs a fraction of a second on before you drop the clutch. A good rear LSD is also a big help too. Have some throttle on as you do it too, so when you drop the clutch it does the business.

I remember watching duke in his GC8 years ago, he had a bit of knack for the ole 'khana's. DT's rally car in rally mode on tarmac at rexpo couple of years back too if i remember. Loads of fun.

If you cant get it to spin, try reef the wheel one way and whilst mid turn rip the handbrake, should get you a 180.

Just to address a few things:

No idea what pads I've got on the rear. I suspect they're just OME or some cheap after-markets. But I do know that RMS said they'd get me through Albany and then they need to be replaced. I also need new front rotors after Albany too (4000s again; can't go wrong) so there goes more money

Yeah WWs are annoying in competition. I got one in the first round just gone, and on a fairly simple course too. I guess it was some subconscious nerves. I was literally angry with myself at the end of it and a little depressed because I'm trying to obtain a few awards this year (eg Best Newcomer) and that's not a good start!
Your clips looked awesome! Wish I could get some 35:65 action happening. But alas, I have stock everything haha

Too right. It's all in the flick hey.

For the benifit of some on here who have been trying to do it and can't quite manage for whatever reason, here's what I do:

If you look at my vid at around the 1:45 section, you can see me start to steer hard right and at the same time get off the throttle momenterally (hear BOV). You can see that this gets some weight on the front wheels so I can turn in.
A split second later I've yanked the handbrake for probably just under half a second. During this time I get the revs up a little with the clutch in so that when I let the clutch out the wheels should spin. Aaaaand they do.
