I think there is no rule on how loud your exhaust is...the cops just do you for noise pollution instead!!! I think thats right anyway

FAQ - how do get a loud exhaust

1. get a straigh through pipe from dump all the way to muffler, ie no cat, no resonator
2. extra loud, terminate the zorst straight after the dump and let it go to atmo from there
3. run a straight through muffler, ie no packing, nothing, just a pipe

Thats pretty much what i ran Reasonably loud (legal IS 92db @ 3ft and 3500rpm apparently and mine hit WAY over that at 2750rpm!) Problem was that i seemed to loose a bit of the boxer sound and combined with a decent exhaust leak, it sounded like a truck.

Well according to the guy who abused me at the lights today, we're all making trouble with loud cars and burning petrol. So watch out for this particular bandit on a motorcyle, who just happend to rip it down the road at 100km+ (60 zone). I guess he's not doing the same?

Sorry, had to let it out.

What a tosspot! Nothing worse than these really ignorant people, who then do something worse than you would ever do.

For loud exhaust... Go a screamer pipe!

They other thing Matt (our ford driving bogan truckie) neglected to include was the flames that would find their way out of a cat-less-straight through exhaust (the licking ones that singe the rear bar). I have first hand experience on many occasions, seeing them pop and pour their way out on down changes.....quite impressive.....very loud....and very yellow

I had a 3inch turbo back zorst and wanted it louder so i removed the mid section resonator. noticed a SLIGHT change in noise but nothin huge. i then replaced the cat with a straight thru pipe and noticed a bit more change in noise but alot more backfires....i honestly dont think my zorst is that loud and all its got is straight thru pipe and cannon.

I think im just going through a phase of wanting to be LOUD. If i take my resonator out, itll have to be cut out and welded back together so there will be no going back. My friends liberty has that cabin drone and its annoying as hell, so i dont wanna have that. Its only heard in the back seats though ..

Do removing cats/cat give a louder note? or is all the silencing done in the resonaor?
