Default Rebuilding my EJ20

yo fellaz!

I have a MY00 wrx with 133,000kms (standard engine) and am looking into rebuilding! Now i know there are some threads up already explaing the costs etc, but none where of workshops over here! i live in midland so i want to get my engine rebuilt around perth! Now how much is it going to cost appox, and i have heard alot of ppl talking about the EJ207?? now is that a newer engine ??? like what model wrx is it out of, and how do i find out more information about rebuildin! What options are there and keep in mind my limit is around the 6k mark! It would be much appreciated if some people could lead me in the right direction! i dont want to be ripped off!

I acually emailed Alex from RMS a while ago explaining my situation and he said it would cost me around 10k for a 2.2 stroker kit which put me right off since i can only spend around 6k and thats sorta pushin it as i want to buy turbs and other little cosmetics etc etc...!!!!! so are there ways to have a nice fresh engine for about 6 or am i just wasting my time!!!!

Thanks guys!

call regents for a 207 short motor, going rate is between 3-3.5k for a brand new short motor with forged pistons.

all you need to do is pay someone to put it together.

What are your goals for the motor and vehicle?

What turbo are you planning on using?

207 should be more than enough though . . .

save the 6 grand towards buying a newer STi, ej207 already fitted to it, better buy and newer, or if you really wanna stay with the gc8...what stace said. Sometimes its just too hard to let go of the GC8

Okies

Is there anything wrong with your stock 205?

If not why do you want to rebuild? a VF turbo and ecu with tune and a couple of other bits should be fine on your motor providing you dont push to much boost and its tuned correctly . . .

Well thats the thing! there isnt any problem with the engine which is good! So i spose i just could do those mods and not have to worry about rebuilding but i would like to just hold on to the 6k and save it incase anything did go wrong! When is it a good time to rebuild, i thought around the 130k mark but since theres nothing wrong with the engine, i guess its fine??? I only will be upping the boost a little too to a safe amount, i hope

I appreciate everyones help too by the way!

i love forums

^correct.

but if you have 6K to spend, get a crate motor from Jap Wholesale in Wangara and get any workshop listed on this forum (search feature) to install it..

should be able to get an V8-10 sti motor, turbo TMIC and ecu purchased and fitted for about 6K....

THE BEST SOLUTION...
