Default Big Garrett and external gate installs ?

Does anyone have any pics of the wastegate location on a Subaru big garrett install ? I can find plenty of yank stuff on the net but that doesn`t help our rhd cars !

I`m trying to fit up a GT30BB(aka 3082, may step up to 3582 in future) and 44mm Tial.......Damn Subaru doesn`t leave a lot of room around the turbo area in the rhd cars....the yanks have it good !

Anyway I`ve more or less decided to high mount the GT angled Rigoli style(only way theres enough room and clear-ish paths really, yes shutting the bonnet is a concern !)....and I presume the only real way then there is enough room for something like a 44mm Tial(I should have used somthing smaller !!) is to either poke it thru the other side of the steering knuckle or do some wierd arse plumbing that re-locates it up high on top of the gear box or near TB area.

Anyone have any suggestions or pics that show what I need ?

How was Gareths car done ?...anyone have pics of that ? Gareth, please ?

I`m just looking for inspiration at the moment....I know I can make it all fit one way or another..... more info the better tho.

Cheers

yeah there is always plenty of room, just be realistic with pipe diameters and angles and there shouldnt be a problem.

How far down do you mean ? like around CV hieght ? where does it attatch to the up pipe ? and come off the up-pipe gearbox or other side of the steering knuckle ? Screamer or plumbed back ?

My only concern with mounting it there is bracing it back to the dump as I`m not plumbing back !

Any pics you want to share ?

Yes I know its not impossible....just looking for the best design thats going to last and not cook CV, brake line, PS lines etc etc

I`m using 3" dump and 44mm ID pipe from up-pipe -> tial

Hmm OK I see how I`m making it hard for mayself ! I`m using a slightly modified version of the std turbo bracket(early single piece version) to secure the up-pipe/turbo.... If I was to make that smaller and raise it a bit there would be a lot more room to get from the up-pipe to the WG and mount the tial in under the dump....

See I learnt somthing already

How close does the top alloy part of the tial 44mm sit to the dump pipe ?

I am using a bulky 4eat so its most likely less room there for dump angles etc than 5mt installs....

Cheers

OK thanks for the pic.....I did think of bringing it up that way, but I was worried about how much heat transfer you would get to the brake master cylinder(I`m planning on custom ps lines and moving all other wiring anyway...), how hot does the top of the tial get ?

Cheers again for pic.

Its only yours brakes....how close does the exit of the WG and the bottom/hot section of the WG come to the booster ?....could maybe cause failure or at least shorten its life span some.

Ive been running my setup for over a yr now and theres no issue with cooling over the brake cyclinder. I though have jet coated my rear housing, so it dosent get too hot at all. i.e i can touch it

The tial comes off the upipe, and sits above the trailing arm. There is a screamer pipe which exists downwards from that.

pics

U obviosuly cant see the wastegate, i unfortunately dont have pics, but theres heaps of room for it.
