Coilover is close to the tyre, and I think huys was rubbing until he got a decent wheel alignment. I do notice the front plastic inner guard liners rub on the tyre with the std 17' rims at the ride heights mentioned under hard cornering at the skid pan.

Spacers = illegal! simple as that as per the Road Traffic Act. You're only choice is to get new rims with a different offset. Look at at a 42mm + offset as opposed to the 34 or 37mm + that you currently run.

Yep got it sorted with rims at +45 offset.
