Default Build for Torque

Hey guys i was gathering idea's on the ideal engine and turbo/s to create the most torque possible while driving off boost, and a lot of torque while on boost.

Not sure on how realistic the 2.8L option would be from crawford... what sort of price is that going for?

The better and more realistic idea i had was simply a ej255 with a good fast boosting turbo (twinscroll?) then enhanced with supporting mods to fatten the torque band up even more.

A magazine i have "hot4's wrx special" has a gc8 with a 2.5 and twin gt25bb's on it which sounds awesome for my goal but not sure how much youd be spending these days to make that happen.

Im trying to make a goal for where i want to head with my car, not trying to dream.

I would be glad to hear any idea's you may have on this topic.

probably look around the 20-30k mark atleast, depends of course on parts chosen and what not as 2.8L will need a EJ25 block and gearbox to suit as far as im aware...

im looking at a similar path / planning to do it...

if Cosworth is anything to buy the short-block will be around the US$5900 for a 2.5L so yeah, depends how much money you have and what you wanna do with it

Thats why i was looking at a ej255 from an 06-07 STI, rather then the 2.8L for that kind of money.

Anyone know how much a complete ej255 with wiring etc would be worth?

Sorry to Hijack the thread but just a quick question? Is the block from my MY00 EJ205 an open deck block?

If so, which 2.0L are closed deck?

Cheers

AVCS ive been told is a complete waste of time, the money involved in making it work properly vs. where u could spend it elsewhere for greater effect.
