Question start issues?

hello,

been having a few issues with staring the car ( 97 wagon ) lately, cold and warm.

what it's doing is when trying to start it, it takes a few seconds/cranks to start but the main problem is sometimes it actually sounds like the battery goes flat when trying to crank over so i stop, leave it for a few seconds then try again and it starts.

im thinking starter motor as i've replaced the battery with a new one ( old one kept going flat due to immobiliser fault ) and everything else is good, AFM is new as is o2 sensor.

i have it booked in in two weeks to check it over but was just curious if anyone else has had a similar problem

Starter motors either work or they dont... They dont bog down unless something else is rooted. ie honey for oil...

I know this sounds stupid but are the battery terminals clean and are they tight enough on the battery cos i had the same thing happen to me and thats what it was.

ok all fixed now. turned out to be a couple of things;

1: battery terminals loose
2: ground cable to chassis was loose
3: starter motor flogged out ( replaced with an exchange unit )
