Lifter free in WRX = Noise maker from what i can gather, highly unrecommended by work hah.

Brake ticking noises could be warped rotors and or worn brake pads ? Check how much meat is on the pads...

Could also be as Joe said about the Bearing, i had a similar thing...Bearing was Fooked.
