Default Extractors on a wrx

hey, just wondering if a set of Headers on the rex are worthwhile ?

everyone seems to have the exhaust but i never really hear much about the Headers. I am looking at putting on a turbo back 3" exhaust in the next few weeks and was thinking about adding some Headers while i'm at it.

what kind of power upgrade would i be looking at?

what are your general thoughts on Headers ?

Thanks, Greg.

"headers" would be the more exact term

Many guys on here run them whether they be Equal or Un-Equal length. You lose the boxer sound, but gain better low-end response.

not worth it. you'll actually lose top end.
good for high HP application but i would be porting your dump/manifold from the exhaust side before this

i would do them, equal length small diameter headers will give the best all-round improvement, over 30hp in most cases.

its the direction subaru are heading with the twinscroll setups.

I was under the impression you only lose the boxer note with EQUAL length headers? Yay or Nay.

I wouldn't (& haven't) bothered with them. Sound gay too :-)

for some people they work, for others they don't..

Depends on the situation and supporting mods. If the exhaust mod is all you have done so far and don't plan on spending lots of money modding your car, I wouldnt worry about headers...

If you want more power/better performance down the track a bit, consider a complete sti twin scroll turbo/header bolt-on kit.
