Default Sway Bars?

Ok i have a 02 wrx and i wanted to change the front and rear sways..

I couldnt really find a definitive guide to sways so i thought i'd start a thread..

Whats the diam of the standard sways on a non sti 02?

What parts do i need to replace them? I have looked through the whiteline cat and its all a tad confusing. Do i need to change links, do i need the heavy duty mounts?

Anything else im missing?

Form reading around most ppl tend to go with 22 on the front and 24 on the rear. Is that the recommendation?

Also.. do people order these direct from whiteline or is there somewhere in perth that specs in it?

Its always advisable to change the end links. Factory makes them rubber and they tend to flex a bit and hence can get sloppy.
Whether you're going 22 or 24 front/rear is a personal choice, ie understeer or oversteer or neutral. Finding what you're most comfortable is part of the modding game. Don't jsut take someone's word for it, experiment with it if you can and make your own judgement.

My advice:

22mm adjustable front with Whiteline spherical sway bar links
24mm adjustable rear with Whiteline alloy sway bar links.

Although this is my opinion, the 24mm bar isnt too much to handle...and its always worth having the bigger bar, with the option for adjustment (you can loosen it off using the "softest" mounting holes if need be).

I can price it up for you, but if you put aside 600 bucks, you'll get the whole lot and some change out of it also (going from the last WRX front and rear setup I sold). I'll have to confirm of course.

Go with the fixed 22mm front. The adjustable bar often fouls with the control arm.

With a rear 24mm its worth investing in some negative camber me thinks, say 1'30" each side on the bum for a streeter. I run a 22mm rear and the rear end does tend to come out a bit if you brake and/or turn real hard, so the negative camber should keep it under check.
