Interesting Stace, I have found the opposite. It shows that driving styles in pad choice would be an important factor.

The 2000s are a pure street pad, and are a little better than Ultimates.

I'm running the 2500s and haven't heard any noise AT ALL from them, hot or cold. It helps if the pads have been bedded in properly.

For your application Tode, I'd go for the 2500s over the Ultimates. Both pads are dusty as all hell so you might as well have the better pads.

IMHO the 3000's are a bit over the top for daily driving and will eat your rotors if they are not kept up to temp. Are an awesome competition pad but over the top for daily duties and they are expensive. I tried the RB24's over here and they weren't up to it through the twisties. Fine day to day but started to fade after a real hammering. The RB74 is a more agressive pad that will work fine day to day and take a bit of a pounding. The price is right as well. (Bout $170 an end) Available from race brakes in Melbourne. (03) 9326 6088 Speak to Howard. Otherwise I reckon the TS2000 ferodo was fine for daily driving and a day at MC. Was never a big fan of the 2500 as they were nowhere near as good as a 3000 and not much better than a 2000 so I used to live with the 2000 on the street and fit 3000 for the track. But that said alot of guys runnning the STI brmbos like em as a daily driver wekeend twistie blaster pad. Perth Brake Parts in Welshpool are always really helpful.

geez, 20,000km on the tuna green machine is equivalent to around 30000km on other cars.
