Default Bleeder = how much psi?

Howdy y'all

Got a 94 GC8, full turbo back 3", K&N only. Got a turbosmart bleeder, just wondering how much is safe for stock ecu? I was thiking 15 or 16, which should be ok with the ecu right, in terms of running rich/lean etc.

Also i am in broome, so the 'best' fuel we have here is 95RON Premium Unleaded, BP styles.

Car boosts hard to 13psi, so perhaps fuel should be aight??

Cheers my peeps

The stock ECU wont let you go past 16psi - which is a good thing

i would stick to 15psi and leave it there
broome's pretty humid and warm, and not likely to have boost spikes

seeing as its stock, tighten it up till it starts hitting boost cut then wind it back half a notch. Try doing this at night when its cooler so you don't get caught out. Being a manual valve you will have to make slight adjustments with the change of seasons.

Be careful...
I had the tee boost controller and was running it on 16psi with a FCD and when dyno'd found it was pinging. Thats with headers, cat back zorst, filter and bigger TMIC.

My ecu was standard also. Had to turn it down to 13psi to keep things good till got ecu.

If theres a dyno around your way, get it checked just to make sure if you go over 14psi.

Otherwise, even on 14psi, you should notice it boost harder and faster than stock

Cause most people dont care about other peoples cars. Funny cause alot of people say run it on this and that, but when you blow something up they are like " fuck man, you shold never run on that pound etc"

lol

if retaining the factory ecu with NO FCD (fuel cut defender) u can 'possibly' run 'up to' 1.3bar. Every ecu will behave differently, some will fuel cut with the slightest increase some have more leniency - 16psi seems to be the happy medium in 80% of cases. Not a fan of FCD's and bleeding boost, you rely too heavily on the factory rich tune to compensate for the increased boost which can lead to detonation (too many irregularities in the 'tune') - even in minor form will turn into a bottom end knock after a few months (as an example).

Ok so if i stick it to 15psi, which is fractionally higher than stock, i should, repeat, should, be ok?

It is running obviously a bit richer atm cos of the dump pipe, so perhaps this will compensate for the increased-ish boost.

Otherwise what i can do is borrow my mates air fuel ratio gauge and check it out yeah?
