Default injector question

I have searched in the thread and realised that MY01 is actually 440's injectors?

My current mod is:

VF 34, TBE, APEXI, SSQV, STI Top Mount and Verso ( on 13 sept)
Just bought a STI 550 injectors, Will the 440 enough with my current mods? or do u guy suggest me to up grade to a 550's STI injectors? aiming at 180- 200kw? Cos in the forum, someone actually said the standard injectors will enable me to hit 180 to 200KW atw.... m i rite?

This is wat i found in one of the Thread.
MY01-02 440's (Bluey Green)
MY02-05 STi 550's (Pink)
MY03-05 380's (Grey)
MY06-07 WRX 440's (Green)

Can some MASTER advice me?

440s will go up to 200kw atw. However, although it is possible to get 200 kw atw with 440cc injectors, you will be running a very high duty cycle which may not leave room for boost spikes in winter and on cold nights. You run the risk of leaning out and there goes your motor.

However, these injectors are easily modifiable to 816cc by decapping the injector. Many people on here have done this mod with great success. Do a search on "decapping". With 816cc you'll have no problems running 200kw atw. If your not comfortable with decapping. Getting some Pink STI injectors and fitting them is another option. Pink STi injectors are bolt on.

While your at it. Id highly recommend a upgraded fuel pump. Walbro is a straight bolt on.

hmm... do u know wat is limit of a MY01 engine? is 200kw atw too much? if it is.. i willl just stick to the stock injector and just limit it to abt 180-190kw atw max.

wat abt a spec C fuel pump, i bought it over from intra and he told me there is no problem using that fuel pump as he have it on his car and he is boosting it at 1.5 bar.

Rossco's decapping injector thread

Might have to get Rossco to fix up the images though as they seem to be missing.

So disappointed in you Damo ... Search is your friend.

all the threads were old

thought a new whizz bang injector may have come on the market or decapping injectors linked to causing aids discovered in the last few years.

Is it possible and easy enough to swap injectors on a 05 WRX without taking of the manifold, I was told thats what you need to do if swapping them or does it just make it easier to do with the manifold off ??

Has anyone had injectors tested lately and can recommend anywhere??

I was looking at getting some injectors I recently bought checked over before they are installed just to be certain they are all good. I was looking at United Fuel Injection in Redcliffe.
