RAC will not get involved. They said that's what my insurance assessor is for. They'll do a normal car check, but they will not check the actual work that has been done by the smash repairers/mechanics etc.

Contact consumer protection or the small claims tribunal they should be able to recommend someone. Failing that have a look in the phone book.

There is actually people that deal in this sort of thing on a daily basis.

The usually prepare independent reports for people taking their disputes to court.

Hmm all off the struts?

How did they figure that out?

Did you have them checked for bendy bits?

I'm just going by what the mechanics originally told me. But yes all of the struts were damaged.

Just got a call from my assessor, front drivers side airbag has just randomly gone off in the smash repair yard as they were finishing up (bit suss to me, they've had it 3months).

Its now being removed from the smash repairer because the assessor is furious, taken to the mechanics for their final bits and pieces and then taken to City Subaru and they will be sorting the whole thing out.

Consumer Protection here I come.

Please don't let it be a place near Northbridge starting with P^%*&s. I have to take my car back there to get numerous stuff fixed!!!!

Good luck, make sure the repairs are spot on and be bloody fussy about everything as though you were purchasing a new car out of the dealership.

I would even insist on a Dyno run to fully check the car it running spot on after 4 months of being off the road and in a smash. Most mechanics that smash repairers employ know sweet fuck all about problems with Subaru's!!!!

I dont think the smash repairers no sweet fark all about the car either... they set the airbag off by putting the seat back in wrong... I'm furious. It's going to be another 3-4weeks and another 6/7grand added to the amount of damage done. Car should have been written off.

City Subaru are now under control and are sorting this mess out... and are having a subaru panel/smash repairer come out to look at the car to make sure its been done properly. Massive amounts of praise to City Subaru .

And no the smash repairer is not in Northbridge

Thats ridiculous. Clearly if theres been that amount of damage and its taking this long, it definately should have been written off. I'd be complaining loudly!
